Interpersonal Skills.

1) Define interpersonal skills
Interpersonal skills are skills used by a person to interact and communicate with others.

2) Define these interpersonal skills and how you would see them in a game of tag:
• effective communication
• cooperation
• giving and receiving feedback, and feed-forward
• acceptance of diversity
• supporting and encouraging others
• inclusiveness
• problem solving
• negotiation
• conflict resolution.

In a game of tag, communication as a team looks like a team that together , come up with plans to score a point.  A Succesful team is solving problems to become much better as a whole.  Everyone in the team cooperating together and giving each and everyone a part/role to take care and responsiblitys to make it easier for the team.

Succesful team is supporting each other when they make mistakes and encourage them to do better. A Team is helping one another out when they don't know what to do.  In a game of tag you would see everyone in a team giving feedback and feed-forwards to one another to help them increase on skills they need to work on.  Succesful team is negotiating aims or goals to improve on.

You would see Conflict resolution in a game of tag when two team find a peaceful solution to a disagreement among another team. E.g if the other team are cheating, your team can work together to find a peaceful solution.

1.1 11PEA- Volley ball, (15-12 games)

Today we played a game of volleyball.  Volleyball is a team sports in which two teams of six players are seperated by the net. Each team tries to score a point by grounding a ball on the other teams side of the court under the organized rules.

I give myself a 'A' because I was organised and prepared for the activity.  I was demonstrating skills related to the activity.  I was also trying to improve on my levels of skills. I was contributing to the activity with my team and taking up a role or position.

The three factors that affected my participation was
*Well-being -Wellbeing gave a negitive outcome on my performance as  I wasn't confident in playing volleyball.

*Challenge-  Challenges gave a positive influence on my participation because my teammates were very competitive and there were players that was very passionate about volley and was very good.  This gave me a challenge which was to try and hit the ball across the net without any one blocking it.

*Sense of Achievement- My sense of Achievement was a negative influence because I wasn't feeling motivated to work hard towards the goal in the activity.

I could increase my participation by being motivated and reliable in the activity, also work hard towards the goal and show enjoyment when playing.

In the future , I can help increase my peers participation by encourging them and to play with excitement so that they can feel excited the play.

1.1, 11PEA Childhood Games (14-12 games)

Today we played childhood games that were and is stil popular now.  The game we played was Leapfrog, Octopus, 4-sqaure (handball), skipping, hopscotch.  First game we played was Leapfrog, we got split into two equal groups and had a race of leapfrog from one side of the court to the other.  As a class we then played Octopus together as a class after Octopus  with only half an hour left we had free time.  We could play any game until the bell rang.  Everyone played handball because it is a game that is still popular compared to the other games.

I put myself on 'm' because I supported others and encouraged them when they needed it.  I showed enjoyment during the activity.  I was motivated  and reliable during the activity.

Previous experiences was a positive because when I was little, my brothers and I would always play Leapfrog, Octopus skipping and hopscotch, so I was familiar with the game and how it goes.

Skill level was a negitive because now that I'm all grown and not flexible like I was back then I couldn't reallys skip fast like I used to.   Skipping was a big thing in my childhood, I would always skip all day with my best friend.  Fun and enjoyment was a positive outcome in my participation because it was fun to play games that I always used to play in my childhood.

I could increase my peers paticipation by encouraging them to play other games, or if they don't know how to play, I could explain it to them .

1.1 11PEA Turbo Touch (13-12 games)

Today we played turbo touch with the year 9s.  Turbo touch is a very simple yet fast game.  There is a try zone where you have to put the ball down in order to score.  You can't be  in the zone when putting the ball down.  We as two classes changed the rules up abit.  We decided to tap the ball when you get touch, you'll have to pass the ball twice before scoring and two touches only then handover to the other team .

I put myself on a 'M' because I was motivated and reliable to play.  I worked hard towards the goal with my team. I supported my teammates when I'm on and off the field.  I had seeks to try and improve on my performance through development of skills, well-being and fitness.  I had also tried my best throughout the activity.

The competition in the game was a positive because there was alot of people who was into the game and strive to win the game which made the game insane and hard to get to the try zone.  This made me think twice as fast as everyone else in order to try and get to the zone.

The Equipment in the activity was a positive inflence in my participation because we had all the right gears and the right equipment to play.  This helped to make myself and everyone play even more because there was equipment that wasn't broken or missing.

Enviornment was a negative inflence in my participation because it was  very small to play in as we had many people playing.  We couldn't play outside because the ground was muddy and wet from the rain.  We couldn't play on two courts because there was people fixing the light on the other side so for our safety we stayed away from it and just played on one court.

I could help increase my peers participation by encouring them to try harder and help explain things or the game rules if they didn't heard so that they don't waste the teachers time and everyone elses time.

Circuit Fitness suite (12-12games)

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.

Today we did a fitness Suite Circuit. Circuit means having multiple stations. We did x3 rounds, the first two round were fourty-five seconds per station and the last round was twenty seconds per station. We had one mins rest between each rounds station.

The fitness activity we did was, Bicepcurls, Rowers, Lunge Jumps, Cycling, Russian Twists, Burpees, Med Ball Squats and the Agility Zig- Zag.

  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)

I would put myself on 'M' because I encourage my partner to do well and keep going when she felt the needed to stop and we only had about 10 seconds left on the russian Twists. I tried my best on all activity except the burpees but on the last round I tried my hardest.

What were three factors which influenced your participation? (Choose from the list below, and put a + or - beside the three factors to show whether it positively or negatively influenced your participation).

Challenge was a positive influence in my participation because the challenges had given me motivation to keep pushing myself past the limit, for example when we had 20 seconds lef and I was on the russian twits, I pushed myself and tried to get past 10 or 20 twits before the time was up.

Equipment was a positive influence in my participation because we had all the equipment ready and set up for us. No equipment was broken so it was good to use.

Environment was a positive influence in my participation because we were in an environment that had spaces and room for us to do our activity. This made us get around things well and workout well without hurting or knocking anything over.

  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
I could help increase on my peers participation by helping them and motivate them more often when they feel like giving up.

Wednesday 2 August 2017

Ping Pong (game 11-12)

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.

Ping pong is another term of table tennis. In the activity, there is a table, ping pong ball and a little racket. On the table there is a net that goes across the table. To score a point you'll need to hit the ball on your side and make it go over the net to hit the other sides of the table. If they hit it back you'll have to keep going until one of yous lose control of the ball.

  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)

I grade myself a M because I was enjoying the activity, supporting my teammate because she had never played ping pong. I seek to improve my performance and I worked hard to win the game as my partner really didn't participate in it.

  • What were three factors which influenced your participation? (Choose from the list below, and put a + or - beside the three factors to show whether it positively or negatively influenced your participation).

My skill level were a positive influence on my participation as I had the skill on how to play ping pong from my dad and brothers.

Sense of Achievement was a positive outcome on my participation because I wanted to achieve on one of my goals I had which was to try my best by my self since my partner didn't want to participate as she felt like she would make us lose, which I didn't mind because all I wanted to do was just play ping pong with everyone.

Previous experience was another positive inflence because I played and learnt how to play ping pong with my family, we would set a net on our dining table and just play it with one other all day and night, my dad taught me a way to hold the racket as I was struggling to hit the ball over the net.

  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
I could help my peers by explaining the rules and how to play it when they don't know. This could increase my bond with them and also help increase their skills level and sense of achievement.

Balance and Stablity

  • What are the three parts of balance and stability?

COG- (Centre of gravity.) Point which all parts of the object are equally balance.
LOG-(Line of Gravity) Vertical line straight down the body including through the Centre of Gravity to represent the direction of gravity.
BOS- (Base of Support) Supporting area benearth the body including the points of contract with the ground.

  • How can someone increase their balance and/or stability?

TO increase their balance they need to increase their base of support to have good balance. Also the line of gravity will have to be straight down from their head to toes.

  • Describe your task from the start of the poses to the end of the Slides. Talk about what you enjoyed and what you found difficult.

This first position we did with all of peers and class mates, this was a easy but hard part to do as some people on the bottom wasn't very strong and didn't have balance to hold the people on the top. We were also very close to each other which was gave us an unbalance surface.

The second position was the easiest and most simple position to do, as we had a big base to support our balance so we were stable enough to hold the person on top of us.

The thrid position was a very hard one for us to do, we had to try and balance the person who is on us and had to get the timing right. Also it was hard to get both boys to get their feets to touch each other so they are stable enough and have the support from us girls holding them.

What is force summation?
Force summation is creating larger force possible, by using different body parts to work together the largest muscles to the smallest muscles.

Describe the three parts of force summation.
Range of Motion: The greater range of motion you use the better force is produced. Order Of Body Segments: Forces that needs to be transferred from the largest muscles through to the smallest muscles. Timing of Body Segments: Every segment should get going before the previous segment reaches it's peak force.

Describe the activity we completed in the gym and how this related to force summation.
We had done many activitys that relate to force summation. The first activity we did was where we partnered up with someone and we each take turns at throwing a basketball as far as you can but the first throw we started off by lying down flat on the ground and only use our arms and hands to help give us forces. The first attempt was the hardest one as I was only using my hands and arms. The second attempt was to sit up on the floor, only using our arms, hands and our stomach. The thrid throw was to go on your knees. The only body parts that was active was my hands, arms, stomach and my thighs. This throw was slightly easier as there I was using more muscles to help me throw the ball further. The last throw was standing up. This throw was a much better and easier throw because we were using all of our muscles to help us have forces to throw the basketball far away. The second activity we did was trying to touch the top of the glasswall/window

Projectile Motion- 11PEA

What is Projectile Motion?
Projectile motion is a form of motion which an object is thrown in the air it becomes a projectile such as shotput ball.

What are the three parts of projectile Motion?
1: Angle of releases = The average angle when releasing is 45* but it depends on the people and sports.
2: Heigh of releases = The greater the height the further the distance of the object would go.
3: Speed of releases = Having greater speed which causes greater height and distance when releasing an object.

Explain the activity this morning related to Projectile Motion.

Today we did an activity where we had a bunch of  papers and a rubber band.  We can fold the papers and try to find the best technique in order to get the paper across the room or to aim it for the two hoops that was on the ground.

Wednesday 26 July 2017

Three Classes of Levers.

What are the 3 parts?

The first part of the levers is the  Fulcrum.  The fulcrum  is the point at which the lever pivot.
The second part of the levers is the  Effect.  The effect is the force that is applied to make the object move.
The thrid part of the lever is the Load.  The load is the objects or thing you are carrying.

What are the 3 classes?
1st class of the lever is the seesaw.
2nd class of the lever is the wheeelbarrow.
3rd class of the lever is the arm.
Explain levers in sports.
In tennis when serving the ball,  the fulcrum is the shoulder and the elbow, the effort is the shoulders that is the force to make the tennis ball move.  The load is the tennis ball.
Explain the activity we completed.

The activity we completed in class was a activity that helps us understand and identify the 3 classes and 3 parts of the levers.  This activity we cut out three sqaures,  three triangles and three rectangles.  The three sqaures represent the load or (resistance),  the three triangles represent the fulcrum or (pivot)  and the three rectangles represent the effect or (force).  We then planned where each shapes goes that would represent the three classes and parts in levers and stick the three shapes on to a peice of paper.  Then explained the three classes and gave examples.

11PE- 1.1 Reflection- Zumba (10-12 games)

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.
Today we did Zumba. Zumba is a video where someone is dancing and giving you intruction. All we had to do was copy the moves they were doing and follow their intruction.

  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)

I grade myself an 'A' because I was contributing in the activity even though I wasn't feeling well but I was still trying to improve on my skills.

  • What were three factors which influenced your participation? (Choose from the list below, and put a + or - beside the three factors to show whether it positively or negatively influenced your participation).

Injury and illness gave a negative influence in my participation because I wasn't feeling well as I am still healing from a bad cough an example was when I didn't join in that much because I would end up coughing alot.

My previous experiences was a positive influence in my participation because in primary we did Zumba every morning to get everyone up and moving for school so that they are not tried when it's time to learn.  An example was when we did the Jump Jam videos ,  I knew how to do them and how it goes so I was participating.

My sense of achievement gave a negative influence because I was unorganised to participate in Zumba. An example was I forgot my gears today which gave me no sense of achieving anything in this activity.

Explain HOW these factors affected your participation (with specific examples)

  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
I could increase my peers participation by encouraging them to do zumba as most people didn't feel comfortable dancing in front of their peers.

1.1 Reflection- Badminton (9/12 Games)

Today we played Badminton for our 1.1 reflection.  We used a shuttlecock, racket and a volleyball net.  Badminton is almost the same as tennis and volley but instead of using a ball we use something that's called a shuttlecock.  Shutterlecock is not shaped like a ball,  it has feathers pointing out of the end and a little soft ball that you hit.

Image result for shuttlecock

I would put myself on an achieve because I was organised before the game and I helped prepared the activity so that we have more time to play.  I was involved in the activity.  I tried to improve on my skills preformance which was to try and serve the shuttlecock.

To get myself to a merit,  I need to work hard towards the goal.  I need to be motivated and reliable during the activity.  I need to seeks to improve my performance through development of skills, well-being and fitness.

My previous experiences is a negtive impact in my participation because when we played badminton before I was very bad as I didn't really know how to play.  The previous experience made my confident go down because I couldn't serve the shutterlecock.

My friends and classmates gave a positive impact in my partcipation because they had it positive and fun for me and everyone else.  They were also supportive towards everyone.

The challenges in this game was a positive impact in my partcipation because there were good players there which made it challenging for me and my partner to try and win the game.  It was really a positive and challenging game.

I could increase my peers participation by supporting them when they need it and also encouraging them when they don't feel like playing because they don't like the game.  I could increase my peers participation by being positive so that they can also have a positive and happy game to enjoy.

200 Fitness Challenge (8/12 Games)

Today,  we did a 200 fitness challenge with the year 9 PE class.  The exercies we did was 200 squats, 200 sit ups and 20 rounds running around the cone that was 20 meters away.  We each partnered up with a year 9 students and we all participated together.   My partner and I planned to do 20 squats each that way it is easier to count.   We also did the same strategy for the sit up.  My partner was getting tried so I carried it on her behalf.  For the 20 rounds run we decided to do 10 rounds each so that it is much faster than doing five rounds each.

For today's session,  I would put my self on the merit column because I was motivated and reliable in the session.  I was working hard towards my personal goals which was to try and complete the whole sets .  I really showed enjoyment as I love doing fitnesses with other people especially with my class.  I did my best in today's session.

Friends/Classmates:
* Friends and classmates gave a positive influence on my participation because everyone was positive towards one another and they were also encouraging each other to keep going.

Fun/Enjoyment:
*  Fun and enjoyment gave a positive effect on my participation because it was fun to do which means there was no negative outcome in today sessions.  It was an very enjoyment sessions because there was positive attitudes and vibes everywhere.

Challenge:
* Challenging was a postive influence in my participation because I made a goal where it was to complete everything.  This challenge turned out very good as I completed it with my partner.

In the future, to increase my peers particpation I need to support and encourage them to keep going when they feel like giving up so that they can feel bright and have a positive mindset towards themself and other.

Sepak Takraw (7/12 Games)

SEPAK TAKRAW

Sepak Takraw is played between two teams of three. There is a volley net between the two teams. For your team to score , you and your team will need to work together and try get the ball across the net but instead of using your arms and hands, the only body part you can use in this game is your head or your legs. The ball they use in Sepak is made out off rattan, it is not the same size as a volley ball but much smaller.

Image result for sepak takraw ball
I would put myself on a achieve because I was organised and perpared for the acitivity by getting into my gears on time and helping out to set up the game.  I tried to improve my skills and attempting to improve my level of performance.  For me to improve and get into the merit column,  I need to work hard towards the goal or objective in the activity,  I need to show enjoyment in the activity and to do my very best in every physical activity.

My skills level is a negitive impact when I was playing Sepak because I had no skills in kicking the ball over the net,  when I served the ball I kicked it but it went out of the game instead of going  over the volleyball net and towards the opposite team.  Previous experience is a negitive impact when playing because I haven't played Sepak Takraw so I wasn't familiar with the game. This made me want to play less because I felt uncomfortable playing.  The positive impact when I participated in playing Sepak was the fun and enjoyment in the game,  this made the game positive and fun because everyone was very supportive.  This positive impact made me want to play more because of the positivity everyone had in the game.

To increase my participation,  I need to work on being engaged throughout the whole activity and ask questions about the rules if I am not familiar with it.  To increase my participation with my classmates,  I need to encourage them when they need the support so that they can be in high spirits and everyone can have a positive game throughout.

Newton's Law Of Motion (19/06)

Sir Isaac Newton was an English mathematician, astronomer and physicist who formated the laws of motion. In 1686, he present his three laws of motion in the " Principia Mathmatic Philsophie Naturalis."

There are three laws, the first law is interia. Law of interia is stated that every thing remain at rest or stable until it is moved from external force. The second law is Acceleration. Law of Acceleration is caused when a force acts on a mass. The greater mass, the greater the acceleration. (F=M x A) (Force= Mass x Acceleration) The third and final law is the Action/Reaction. The law of action/reaction is the forces of two object interacting . Eg: when you bounce the ball to the wall that is an action. The reaction is when the ball rebounce off the wall and toward you.

Today we played a game called 'inertia ball', it demonstrated Newton's laws because when we placed all the balls in a line, the balls were at rest which is one of the Newton's laws of motion. We had to use all the balls and use force to be able to move the big exercise ball, this is the second laws.We have learnt that out of all the balls we've used were not able to make the exercise ball to roll faster or further but the only ball that were useful and was able to move the big exercise ball to the other side was the basket ball because of the mass in the basketball . To get the excerise ball to move we had to use the third law of Newton's laws, Action/Reaction. The action when playing was to use our external force to throw the other ball towards the excerise ball. When the ball bounce on the big excerise ball it gave a reaction where it either bounce back to you or it bounce to the side.

1.1 PEA - Ultimate Frisbee (6/12)

  • Explain the physical activity you participated in.

Ultimate Frisbee is like turbo touch but instead of using a ball we use a frisbee.
We had two teams four players in each team, your team need to work together to get the frisbee to the other side of the line where one of your players will be waiting for to catch it in able to score for your team.
  • What level of effort and engagement were you participating at during today’s physical activity? Why? (Grade yourself NA, A or M and refer to marking criteria)

I would give myself an 'A' because I was organised before the activity, I was involved in the activity and I tried to improve on my skills. I can also reflect on my performance. For me to get to an 'M', I need to Support the development of others by assisting with their needs when it is required and also enhances the experience of other participants by adding my own input in the acitivty.

  • What were three factors which influenced your participation? (Choose from the list below, and put a + or - beside the three factors to show whether it positively or negatively influenced your participation).

Challege = +
Classmates/Friends = +
Environment = -

  • Explain HOW these factors affected your participation (with specific examples)

Challege

I think the challege in the activity was a postive affects on my participation because it helps me to think more on how to get my team to score points also on how to trick the other team for me to be able to have space for my teammates to throw the frisbee. The challeging part was the wind, the wind made it 10 times harder for us to score a point for the team because we have to think as a team to get the frisbee on the other side of the line.

Classmates/Friends

I think the Class was a postive affects in my participation because they made it fun for me to enjoy and play.

Environment-

I think the environment had gave a negitive impact in my participation because of the wind and coldness.  The wind made it harder for me to catch and hear.  The cold wind made harder because I was very cold to play.

  • How could you increase your (or your peers) participation in this activity in the future?
For me to increse my participation, I need to support others by giving them feedbacks to help improve their performance.

The Musculoskeletal System 06/06

What are three types of muscles?  Give Example.

  • Trapezius - Trapezius is a muscle on your back that is shaped like a upside down triangel. The Trapezius muscles are to move the scapulae and support the arm.

Image result for muscles trapezius

  • Rectus abdominis - Rectus abdominis known as abs are a pair of long flat muscles that is located in front of the body. The rectus abdominis is an important postural muscle.  It is responsible for flexing when doing sit ups.

Image result for rectus abdominis muscle

  • Latissimus Dorsi - Latisssimus Dorsi is a large flat muscles located at the back of the body that stretches to the sides, behind the arm and is  right below the Trapezius also some muscels is covered by the Trapezius. The lastissimus dorsi is responsible for extension, adduction flexion from an extended position and internal rotation of the shoulder joint.

Image result for latissimus dorsi

Describe what agonist and anatagonist muscels are.

Anatagonist muscels are a muscels that oppose the action of another.
Agonist muscels contraction moves a part of the body directly.

As one muscle contracts, the other relaxes.  When the triceps relaxes the biceps contracts to lift the arm.

Examples are below.
Image result for agonist muscle

What are some movements in the body and examples of the movement in a sport?

There are many movement in the body when playing sports.  The movement in the arms when throwing or passing a ball or any objects this is called elbow flexion and elbow extension. The movement in the hips and thighs,  it is used when running, jumping, walking and exercising . This movement is called hips flexion and hips extension.  The last movement I can think of is the knees and ankles,  this helps to kick a ball when playing soccer, this movement is called knee flexion and knee extension.

Choose one activity we have completed in class and describe what your task was.
Whack a bone/ Poke a muscle
This activitiy we played an online game where we have to find the bone when starts. This game helped me to revise because it shows where the bone is and it will make you do it over and over again until you've got them all right.
Poke a muscle is the same but instead you are poking the muscle,  same rules and everything.   This helps me to remember where all the muscles are it also have placed new muscle everytime you complete to the next level.
These game were very useful for me as I was struggling to understand where all bones and muscle are in a human body when it was a class discussion.  This game was useful because it was a simple task and because it was a fun game which engaged me to learn where bones and muscle are.
